WHAT IS A TURKISH KILIM RUG?
Kilim rugs are traditional handmade Turkish-style rugs that are flat-woven, which means they have no pile. A kilim is thinner and lighter than a traditional hand-knotted pile rug. They also tend to be less expensive than pile rugs of similar quality because of the simpler weaving technique and the lower density of the rug. While kilims are still beautiful and high-quality rugs, they are less durable than pile rugs because of the style of weave.
